Hello. We Are MOFILM
MOFILM was conceived during an interview between founder Jeffrey Merrihue and Robert Redford about creativity and storytelling at the 2006 Marketing 50 CMO conference in San Francisco.
It came to life in 2007 as a ‘Global Short Film Festival’, an artistic collaboration between Redford’s Sundance Film Festival and the GSM Association. MOFILM ran its first global video contest at Cannes for advertising in 2009, with a dozen brands taking part including Doritos, HP, AT&T, Vodafone and Visa.
Fast forward to today and we’ve delivered over 28,000 videos and built a community of 10,000 filmmakers and influencers. Work by the MOFILM community has appeared during the Oscars, the Super Bowl and even on the Times’ Square Jumbotron and has been recognized by Cannes Lions, the D&AD awards, the Loeries and the Lovies, as well various film festivals.
Our community continues to create stunning work around the world in all shapes and sizes – from snackable pre-roll, episodic web series and TV commercials; through to documentaries, virtual reality and drone footage.
In 2016, MOFILM was acquired by You & Mr Jones - the world's first BrandTech group, on a mission to make every part of the brand-building process better, faster and cheaper by leveraging technology.
