Our Creative Community is as richly diverse as the world we live in, and that’s by design.

We’re honored to work with Creatives from around the globe who bring their unique perspective and point of view to every project. The Creative Community has grown and evolved over the years, but equity, inclusion, and authenticity have been at the foundation since the beginning.

Our success would not be possible without them, and we’re proud to offer access and opportunities to Creatives from historically marginalized, underserved, and underrepresented communities.

In 2022, 51% and 47% of Creatives that we shared with our clients were women and BIPOC respectively.

FAQs

  • Yes, our website has recently gone through a refresh but don’t worry we still have your info! We now have an exciting new Members area which gives you access to more resources such as webinars, community boards, new projects and more.

We do ask that you create a new profile on our site as this will ensure that you get alerts on new posts in the Members area. If you have any questions, please reach out to community@mofilm.com.

  • To work with Mofilm, first make an account with us and fill it out with as many details as possible. We match creators to projects based on style, location, and lived experiences. The most important thing to add to your profile is a link to your website or reel.

If we have specific requirements related to a project (e.g. documentary filmmakers based in Lagos / photographers who have experience capturing infants etc) we will post in our Members area which you can log into here.

Make sure you subscribe to our community newsletter and follow our social pages on Instagram and LinkedIn as we may also share new briefs and latest work there too.

That’s it! We’ll reach out to you if we think you’re a good match for a brief.

  • Our unique approach to making content means it’s tricky to define Mofilm using the traditional labels associated with industry. Ultimately, we create content (film, photography, animation etc) for brands via our global creator community i.e. you! Not only is our approach more sustainable because we are commissioning local teams, we also believe that it results in more relevant, authentic storytelling. After all, you are the people who understand your communities the best.

Our curation team — a collective of producers, strategists, and creative directors in London, NYC and LA — provide ongoing client services and can be considered your team members throughout each project. We pride ourselves on simplifying the creative production process and removing all the unnecessary layers so you’ll most likely have direct contact with the clients.

  • The Mofilm process can be broken down into three steps:

    1. We develop a creator brief with our client, which includes the project’s deliverables, budget, timeline, tone/style, and other details.

    2. We identify the right creators for the project from our community. For each brief we will be looking for something different but generally we look for specific skillsets, location, personal interests and relevant experience. At this point we contact you and ask if you would like to be involved in the project.

    3. Once we have developed a shortlist, the client selects their preferred creator (and often their favorite creative idea at the same time) and we move forwards with production.

Throughout the process, you will always have the same producer contact who is your go-to for questions & guidance.

  • As video and social media has continued to rise in importance for brands we’ve found that the most efficient way to collaborate with creators is to match them with relevant projects. So for that reason, we no longer post live briefs where creators can bid.

Be sure to check out the Members area as we will post any opportunities there. Make sure you subscribe to our community newsletter and follow our social pages on Instagram and LinkedIn as we may also shout about new briefs and latest work there too.

  • We are founded on the principles of championing diversity in the creative industry and bringing brands closer to new talent like you. When you join our community, we get you in front of brands that understand and value the importance of working with diverse creators.

For many creators who want to get started in branded content, a common challenge is firstly finding an entry point, especially when they come from a community not normally represented in the world of branded content. We want to demystify the process and support you at every step of the process.

We believe in “casting behind the camera” — we want to surround a project with people who reflect and understand the people and the stories that we tell in front of the camera. For example, when we worked on Target’s Black Beyond Measure campaign to capture bold portraits of Black subjects, we worked exclusively with Black filmmakers to capture these stories. We pride ourselves on simplifying the creative production process and removing all the unnecessary layers so you’ll most likely have direct contact with the clients throughout the project.

  • Usually our creators select and commission composers directly however we occasionally have internal music requirements. Please sign up to our community so that we have your contact details.

  • Please email our team at community@mofilm.com for all queries relating to past projects.
