We’ve got some very exciting news to share!
News that means MOFILM is going to be able create even bigger and better opportunities for you, our amazing community of talented creatives from around the globe!
We’ve always prided ourselves on being at the edge of creativity, helping the best and brightest talent to create award-winning work for the world’s biggest brands and social causes. Now we’re going to be part of an innovative new technology group that will work alongside brands to help them create, curate and distribute content.
The aim of this group is to build a worldwide network of best-in-class technology companies who will help brands connect with their audiences in a more meaningful way. Called You & Mr Jones, it has been created by David Jones, a founding member of the Facebook client council and former global CEO of advertising group HAVAS.
As well as acquiring a majority stake in MOFILM, You & Mr Jones has made minority investments in Mashable, the well-known news website and Pixlee, which uses real customer photos to help brands create more engaging content marketing.
So what does this mean for you and the MOFILM team?
Exactly what we said up front – bigger and better opportunities for you to create work, and more innovative and creative ways for that work, and you, to be showcased.
You and MOFILM have come along way since we first started as out as ‘the Biggest Global Short Film Festival’, when we celebrated the winners at GSMA Global World Congress in Barcelona in 2007. Since then we’ve flown dozens of filmmakers around the world, given away hundreds of Mobi trophies at award celebrations on six continents. We’ve created thousands of films, some of which have been watched by millions of people, everywhere from online to on the Super Bowl. We’ve watched with pride as MOFILMer’s have used our platform to carve out their own career path, we worried too when some of you quit your jobs to jump into being a fulltime filmmakers, and we’ve celebrated when you’ve been signed by agents and big production houses using your MOFILM reels to do so.
Together we’ve become award winning, picking up plaudits from the film, advertising and business worlds.
