Searching for short form superstars

By Charlotte Dixon

Here at MOFILM, we love films. All kinds. Long films. Short films. Quirky and surprising films. Films that my you feel something, mirror your mood, or shift your perception.

The good news is that you all seem to like films too. And your friends. And the people the films you make.

And more and more people are spending time watching these films on those those little computer-type things that you keep in your pocket and occasionally call your family with.

It could be your latest series crush on Netflix that you watch on the train into work, a killer recipe video on Facebook, your friends on their summer holiday pulling off a perfect times Boomerang of glasses cheersing, or your BFF trying out Snapchat’s latest feature.

However all this content has implications and recent research found that humans have a shorter attention span than a goldfish, down from 12 seconds now to just 8.

So we want you to send us your best and brilliant work that’s under 10 seconds. It’s a simple and as difficult as that.

Starting now, we’ll be offering $500 every month to our three favourite ‘super short’ filmmakers.

Here’s how to enter:

  • Make sure your MOFILM profile is completely up to date. Click ‘My Profile’ in the top right hand corner of MOFILM.com to do this
  • Check out the full brief and hit the Submit Idea button at the bottom of the screen.
  • Pop in the title of your film
  • If your film is live online, share a link with us in the description box
  • If possible, please also add information about the short film and why you think it should win
  • If you’re having any problems, drop us a line at community@mofilm.com

So whatcha waiting for? Head over to the project and upload your films now.
