Foot Locker: Real Lives. Real Runners, and the New York Marathon 2015

By MOFILM

Foot Locker and ASICS have announced their top 5 finalist films for this year’s “Real Lives. Real Runners” film contest!

As you may know, we recently completed a special project for Foot Locker and ASICS asking filmmakers to share documentary-style stories about real runners and the ways in which running has impacted their lives. We got an incredible outpouring of concepts and films for this brief, so a huge THANK YOU to everyone who submitted. The accounts team fortunate enough to work on this project had a blast working with all of you.

Up until now the project has been fairly normal – the brief, the grants, the films… but now is when things get really interesting. Rather than selecting a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place winner, these clients are putting the rankings into yours/mine/all of our hands through a public competition for which film gets the most views on the Foot Locker YouTube Channel!!

Cool!

“What does this mean?!?” you ask…

Well first of all it means that every one of you one needs to watch the films below and like, engage, comment on your favorite(s)!

Go go go!

The creators of the three films with the most views on YouTube will be flown to New York City for an exclusive event and film screening at the Tribeca Film Center. This event will have very important people from Foot Locker, ASICS and MOFILM in attendance as well as some surprise celebrity guests. At the event all three films will be shown, there will be a Q&A and then a panel of judges will determine the 1st place film. The criteria for judging is pretty extensive and covers technical excellence, delivery to the brief as well the creativity and originality of the content.

The first place film will then run on broadcast during the New York Marathon!

Without further ado, here are the films! Watch, enjoy and support your fellow MOFILMers!

“Dear Mom”, Michael Medoway and Dean Chapman

“The Streak”, Corrin Hodgson & Dan Ringly

“I Run for a New Beginning”, Joshua Traywick

“Road Warrior”, Carlos Gutierrez

“The Push”, Evan Kelman
