Mofilm is hiring!

By Sam Kauffmann

Mofilm is hiring for three different positions: Head of Business Development, Agency Producer (West Coast Based) and a Social Media Intern. Read on to learn more, we look forward to hearing from you.

The Company:

At Mofilm, we believe many voices are better than one. This is the principle our business is built on. It’s why we’ve spent the last 10 years building and nurturing a 10,000-strong community of professional filmmakers and creators from different geographies, backgrounds and cultures – essentially a creative department as diverse as the world we live in.

It means we source ideas, treatments and video content from all over the world, ensuring diverse thinking is at the heart of the creative process and not an afterthought.

We think of ourselves as a family and are a small team, so we need someone who will fit seamlessly with our ethos. We recruit people with a high level of emotional intelligence who are good at building relationships and are motivated to work both as an individual and as part of a team.

We operate a flat, non-hierarchical structure with daily access to senior management. You will also have exposure to senior clients within massive brands such as Facebook, DoorDash, Target, Reckitt, and more.

Mofilm is constantly adapting our business model to meet our clients’ needs. We provide every employee the opportunity to bring their unique perspective and problem solving to our ever evolving solutions. We embrace ambiguity, work fast and celebrate being different. Ultimately we are always thinking bigger to build stronger and longer client partnerships, and bringing the fun to it all!

The emphasis is on working fast and being different. On thinking bigger than the precedents, building amazing relationships and making it all fun!

Our values:

Fun: People love the “quirks” of Mofilm, so we strive to keep an element of playfulness in everything we do.

Fair: We share and shape Mofilm together, which means everyone knows how to contribute & we reward everyone on that basis.

Focused: We’re creative and disruptive – we want to change the way the industry works & to do it we need laser focus on what makes us unique.

The first is their ability to curate work alongside filmmakers and creatives, and actively help them to shape their creative ideas. They will play a key role (alongside our ECD) in honing scripts and treatments, offering creative suggestions and making sure that all content produced is on brief and strategically correct. The candidate therefore needs to have strong creative intuition and feel comfortable playing a key role in the creative development process.

The second key skill is project management. At MOFILM we work fairly independently on projects and the onus is on Producers to manage their own projects effectively and efficiently. This candidate needs to be very self-motivated and comfortable working in a flexible, non-traditional environment. You will need to have the ability to go-with-the-flow whilst having those innate organizational skills that mean you can juggle multiple clients, projects and filmmakers at any one time. Your attention to detail needs to be absolute – but it’s about interpreting the details the organization needs, not just being a whizz with a filing system.

The third key skill set is account management. The candidate will need to be comfortable communicating with clients and colleagues of all levels of seniority and have the awareness to adapt their communication style accordingly. More specifically have the natural ability to partner with clients that benefit both Mofilm and their business. Also need to have the desire to sell (with a production/creative lens), to both new and existing clients. Organic growth with existing clients makes up the majority of our business so nurturing client relationships and building trust is at the core of our business model.

Key Personality Traits:

  • Must have an excited energy; a hungry self-starter & take feel comfortable taking full ownership & responsibility of their projects
  • Organized and detail oriented. Strong process orientation
  • Must be articulate; superb written and verbal communication to relay information clearly. Professional when necessary, personal when appropriate.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment while maintaining calm, balanced, level-headed nature.
  • Collaborative yet highly autonomous. Must be productive and efficient, decisive but respectful of, and comfortable with ever changing priorities.
  • Can see the big picture while also focusing on the details.
