Win $10,000 and a trip to Barcelona!

* 1st prize - $10,000 cash and a trip to barcelona for each theme
* 2nd Prize – $2,500 Cash for each theme
* 3rd Prize - $500 Cash for each theme

In Barcelona, one of these three 1st prize winners will be revealed
as the “Barcelona Grand Winner” and win the opportunity to work
on a film for Pepsi Spain, with mentoring from the marketing team
and its advertising agency BBDO, and a production budget of $20,000.

You may remember, from reading these very news pages, that one of our Pepsi Short Film Video Contest Winners also won the Sydney Tropfest Short Film Festival. Well now you can see Abe Forsythe’s winning entry online.

Some of them came from Sweden, some of them came from Australia, some of them came from half a mile down the road, but all of the MOFILM winners were happy to be at the Opium Cinema in Barcelona for their big awards night on Monday.

What a night it was. Our winners were first treated to champagne and wine in the VIP area, where they all got to mingle with MOFILM guests and with Avatar producer Jon Landau. They then got their time on the stage, receiving awards from the MOFILM founders and watching their films on the big screen for the first time.

Excitement was in evidence. Example, from Keith Rivers, co-producer of winning short film ‘A Dollar Well Spent’: “This experience has been really genuine. I’ve met a bunch of talented people all in one room and we’re all talking about what we love to do. I really think this is the next wave of advertising. It’s got integrity.”

Matt Marsh, creator of ‘Choose Not to Fall’ added: “It’s been brilliant. There’s been a buzz about MOFILM – it gets people to actually go out and do something. I really hope I get the chance to do another one. It’s good to get encouragement and know it’s not all in vain.”

And Mitchell Winkie, our 17-year-old maker of ‘Para Su Salud’, said: “I feel exhilaration and fear. I’m surrounded by some very talented people who have all been really nice to me. I submitted my film on a whim and never thought I’d get through.”
